Preview: Mildred Eagles vs. Kemp Yellowjackets
Mildred is 9-1 against Kemp since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mildred Eagles will be playing at home against the Kemp Yellowjackets at 6:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Mildred suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Malakoff 57-26. While losing is never fun, Mildred can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 752nd, while Malakoff is ranked 96th).
Meanwhile, Kemp's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palmer. Kemp has not had much luck with Palmer recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Mildred's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Kemp, they dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road.
Everything went Mildred's way against Kemp in their previous meeting on January 2nd as Mildred made off with a 42-19 victory. Will Mildred repeat their success, or does Kemp have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
