Baseball Game Preview: Costa Mesa Mustangs vs. Pacifica Christian Tritons

Costa Mesa has won five straight games at home, while Pacifica Christian has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Mustangs will host the Tritons at 3:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Monday, Costa Mesa made easy work of University and carried off a 16-3 victory.

Wylan Rottschafer was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Ben Manchester was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Costa Mesa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Pacifica Christian got themselves on the board against Webb on Friday, but Webb never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Gauls.

Costa Mesa's win bumped their record up to 21-6. As for Pacifica Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5-1.

Costa Mesa beat Pacifica Christian 7-4 when the teams last played back in February. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tritons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
