Football Recap: Trinity Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Trinity and Independence meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Trojans took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Independence was led to victory by Sam Bernhardt and Maverick Durden. Bernhardt rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown, while Durden rushed for 23 yards and a pair of TDs. Liam Rienerth got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Independence, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Trinity nor Independence have any future games scheduled.
