Basketball Game Preview: Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns vs. Hardin-Jefferson Hawks

The Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns will head out on the road to face off against the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hamshire-Fannett saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were beaten by Stafford 61-31. The matchup marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Hardin-Jefferson took a blow against Kountze on Saturday, falling 97-58. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 501st, while the Lions are ranked 42nd).

Hardin-Jefferson now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Hamshire-Fannett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.

Hamshire-Fannett strolled past Hardin-Jefferson in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 70-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hamshire-Fannett since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
