Basketball Recap: Sheyenne Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Sheyenne had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They secured an 80-74 W over Horace. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Mustangs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Horace are ranked 15th).

Sheyenne has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Horace, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sheyenne will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Shanley at 7:15 p.m. on February 14th. Horace will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Grand Forks Central at 7:15 p.m. on February 18th.
