Baseball Game Preview: Fleming Island Golden Eagles vs. McMinn County Cherokees

The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will square off against the McMinn County Cherokees at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fleming Island has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Fleming Island is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They lost 11-4 to Knoxville Central.

Caden Swartz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Huber, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, McMinn County's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 5-1 to Chiles. The game marked the Cherokees' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Fleming Island's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for McMinn County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
