Basketball Recap: Ava Rinard's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Angola over Eastside

Angola lost against Eastside back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Angola Hornets took a 58-41 bruising from the Eastside Blazers. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Blazers are ranked 29th).

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ava Rinard, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Holman, who earned eight points and three blocks.

Angola's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Eastside, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Angola has already played their next match (against Westview), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eastside has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against West Noble.
