Baseball Recap: Liberty Tech Magnet Takes a Loss

Liberty Tech Magnet had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-15 to make it five. They came up short against the Madison Mustangs, falling 26-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Crusaders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Madison, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-13-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Madison's part, Garrett Pickens and Nicolas Udovich made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Pickens pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Udovich pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Madison is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-12-1 otherwise. At bat, Pickens went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Udovich got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Udovich has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Madison got a massive performance out of Dylan Stranak, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. The Mustangs are 10-4 when Stranak posts two or more runs, but 4-9-1 otherwise. Garrett Clark was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

As of now, neither Liberty Tech Magnet nor Madison have any future games scheduled.
