Volleyball Recap: Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and Murray County, and Murray County kept the tradition alive. The Warriors fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The 2-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 26-24, 15-12.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Murray County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.

Coincidentally, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe and Murray County will both be playing Coahulla Creek the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Indians will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
