Basketball Game Preview: Warren Warriors vs. Marietta Tigers

The Warren Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Marietta Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warren knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 games -- so hopefully Marietta likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Warren was able to grind out a solid victory over Parkersburg, taking the game 76-64.

Meanwhile, Marietta had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Athens 74-50 on Tuesday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Warren's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Marietta, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Warren strolled past Marietta when the teams last played back in January by a score of 77-59. Will Warren repeat their success, or does Marietta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
