Basketball Game Preview: Saint Andrew's Scots vs. Coral Springs Charter Panthers

Saint Andrew is 8-2 against Coral Springs Charter since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Saint Andrew's Scots will venture away from home to challenge the Coral Springs Charter Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Saint Andrew's is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing West Boca Raton: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Saint Andrew's blew West Boca Raton out of the water with a 73-32 final score. Given the Scots' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while the Bulls are ranked 517th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Saint Andrew's relied on the efforts of Delaney Beighley, who went 10 of 11 on her way to 22 points and three steals, and Emma Smith, who went 6 for 15 en route to 17 points and five steals. That's the most points Beighley has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gabby Fulton, who posted eight points and seven boards.

Saint Andrew's smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Boca Raton only pulled down four offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, Coral Springs Charter won against Boynton Beach on Thursday with 59 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Coral Springs Charter simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Calvary Christian Academy 59-18. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Coral Springs Charter is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Saint Andrew's, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Saint Andrew's ended up a good deal behind Coral Springs Charter in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, losing 40-25. Can Saint Andrew's avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
