Baseball Recap: Independence Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Independence, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Chanute Blue Comets on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Independence's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Chanute, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.

Looking ahead, Independence will challenge Pittsburg on Thursday. The Dragons will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chanute, they have already played their next matchup, an 8-4 defeat against Spring Hill on the 6th.
