Basketball Recap: Gilbert Yellowjackets vs. Seymour Wildcats
Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 65-15 loss at the hands of the Seymour Wildcats. The matchup marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Seymour got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joey Carrafiello out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. Carrafiello's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Robby Carrafiello, who went 7 for 10 en route to 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Seymour, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gilbert will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
