Basketball Recap: Oswego Wins Going Away Against Joliet West

It was a proper cat-fight when Oswego challenged Joliet West on Tuesday. The Oswego Panthers enjoyed a cozy 68-50 victory over the Joliet West Tigers. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 56-48 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Joliet West's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tamia Saunders, who posted ten points, and Makayla J Chism, who had 12 points. Those ten points gave Saunders a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Gavin, who earned eight points.

Oswego has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Joliet West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-14.

Oswego wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-33 loss against St. Charles East on the 15th. As for Joliet West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-47 defeat against Minooka on the 16th.
