Softball Recap: Ashwaubenon Picks Up 18th Straight Win at Home

Ashwaubenon entered their tilt with Pulaski on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came out on top against the Red Raiders by a score of 6-2. That's more bragging rights for the Jaguars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Berritt Herr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ashwaubenon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jocelyn Wirth, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Grace Aichele also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Ashwaubenon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pulaski struck out 12 times.

Ashwaubenon's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Pulaski, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Coming up, Ashwaubenon will square off against Green Bay Preble at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pulaski, they will challenge Germantown at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
