Preview: Gainesville Cardinals vs. Freedom Eagles
The Gainesville Cardinals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Freedom Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Gainesville was able to grind out a solid win over Osbourn, taking the game 20-8. The victory was just what Gainesville needed coming off of a 42-0 loss in their prior match.
Gainesville can attribute much of their success to Colton Kilmer, who threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan McClafferty, who picked up 160 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Freedom entered their tilt with Unity Reed with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Freedom slipped by Unity Reed 7-6 two weeks ago.
Gainesville's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Freedom, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 3-5.
