Basketball Recap: Teasia Hines Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat T.C. Roberson

Erwin won the last time they faced T.C. Roberson and things went their way on Friday too. The Erwin Warriors enjoyed a cozy 53-39 victory over the T.C. Roberson Rams. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Rams are ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Erwin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Teasia Hines, who went 6 of 8 on her way to 19 points and eight rebounds. Hines is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last seven games she's played. Syria Johnson was another key player, going 5 for 6 en route to 15 points.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Skylar Gribben, who posted nine points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Kylie Carrington, who scored nine points and three steals.

Erwin's record is now 17-5. As for T.C. Roberson, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

When Erwin and T.C. Roberson next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Erwin will face off against McDowell and their 21-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Erwin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.
