Softball Recap: Harleton Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Harleton faced off against Union Grove on Saturday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Lions by a score of 10-8. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Zoey Ring was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. Jessie Finley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Harleton moved to 7-14 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Union Grove, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.

Coming up, Harleton will head out on the road to face off against Beckville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union Grove, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Overton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
