Basketball Game Preview: DuBois Beavers vs. Meadville Bulldogs

The DuBois Beavers will head out on the road to challenge the Meadville Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. DuBois is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Last Friday, it was close, but DuBois sidestepped Punxsutawney for a 52-50 victory. Given the Beavers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Chucks are ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Meadville beat North Allegheny 60-47 on Saturday.

DuBois better keep an eye on Jack Burchard. He was instrumental in Meadville's win, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Burchard's evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Tykie Butler was another key player, going 5 for 10 to rack up 13 points and seven assists.

Meadville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

DuBois' record now sits at 13-7. As for Meadville, their record now sits at an identical 13-7.

DuBois came up short against Meadville when the teams last played back in February of 2020, falling 54-42. Can DuBois avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
