Basketball Recap: Mt. Vernon Continues Road Dominance on Friday

Mt. Vernon had won two straight games and Luke Ertel did his part to make it three on Friday. The Mt. Vernon Marauders were the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over the Delta Eagles thanks in part to Ertel, who went 9 of 11 on his way to 25 points and seven rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Parra, who posted 16 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Delta lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lucas Bragg, who put up ten points. Bronson Edwards was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Mt. Vernon pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Delta, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Mt. Vernon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 77-46 defeat against Fishers on the 7th. As for Delta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-40 win against Centerville on the 7th.
