Basketball Recap: Sequatchie County Takes a Loss

Sequatchie County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 65-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences Patriots. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 86-57 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Sequatchie County still got an impressive performance from Ryker Terry, who went 7 of 11 en route to 20 points and eight boards. That's the most points Terry has posted since back in January of 2024. Beckham McKendrick was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Sequatchie County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Sequatchie County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-8 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sequatchie County will welcome Grundy County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sequatchie County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.1 points per game this season. Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences has already played their next game (against LaFayette), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
