If Wheatley was riding high fresh off their 100-54 takedown of North Forest last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wheatley Wildcats fell 83-72 to the Yates Lions on Tuesday. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Wheatley's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7. As for Yates, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

Wheatley and Yates should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Wheatley (ranked 230th) will meet Northside (ranked 1430th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Yates will take on Mickey Leland College Preparatory Academy for Young Men at 8:30 p.m. on Friday up 795 places (265 vs. 1060).
