Basketball Recap: Overland Christian Eagle vs. Plaza Heights Christian Academy Lions
After flying high against Blue Ridge Christian on Friday, Overland Christian came back down to earth. The Eagle took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plaza Heights Christian Academy Lions on Saturday. The Eagle haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Plaza Heights Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Jones, who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed five or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Atticus McMurray was another key player, putting up eight points.
Overland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Overland Christian will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Christian Learning Center at 6:30 p.m. on December 1. This will be the Eagle's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Plaza Heights Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Applewood Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
