The Lakewood Gators are taking a road trip to challenge the Wilson Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakewood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

Lakewood took a six-goal loss the last time they faced off against Crestwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Gators had just enough and edged out the Knights 1-0 on Tuesday. Lakewood's winning goal came courtesy of Gabriel Thomas.

Meanwhile, Wilson won against Darlington on Tuesday with five goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Wednesday. The Tigers blew past Lower Richland 5-1. The result was nothing new for Wilson, who have now won three contests by four goals or more so far this season.

Lakewood's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three matchups. As for Wilson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.

Lakewood might still be hurting after the 6-1 defeat they got from Wilson when the teams last played back in March. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
