Baseball Recap: Marlington Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Marlington's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the West Branch Warriors a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dukes have posted since April 24, 2024.

The result came thanks to Sam Yoder's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Marlington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock Woods, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Woods launched this season.
