Softball Preview: Pearsall Mavericks vs. Pleasanton Eagles
Pearsall has gone a perfect 10-0 against Pleasanton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Mavericks will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Pearsall's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Pleasanton has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Pearsall's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Carrizo Springs. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Kirsten Morales made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Jesslyn Gutierrez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Carly Elizondo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Pearsall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Pleasanton came up short against Somerset on Monday and fell 7-2.
Pearsall's win bumped their record up to 18-10-1. As for Pleasanton, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-13-1.
