Volleyball Recap: Martin County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pasquotank County on Thursday, Martin County came back down to earth. The Gators lost 3-0 to the Gates County Red Barons on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Barons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

While Martin County was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.

Martin County's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Gates County, the victory snapped their losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 12-7 record.

Martin County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Currituck County on the 7th. As for Gates County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Bertie on the 7th.
