Softball Recap: Jordan Beetdiggers vs. Brighton Bengals
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Murray, Jordan was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Brighton Bengals. For the Beetdiggers, this counts as revenge for the 13-2 victory the Bengals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

Kimani Archibeque made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Zya Samora was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Cambria Culberson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Jordan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brighton only posted an OBP of .241.
Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Brighton, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Coming up, Jordan will challenge Judge Memorial Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.79 runs per game on average), something the Beetdiggers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Brighton, they will venture away from home to challenge Skyline at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bengals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
