Basketball Game Preview: Contra Costa Christian Cougars vs. California School for the Deaf Eagles

The Contra Costa Christian Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the California School for the Deaf Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Contra Costa Christian will head into Saturday's contest out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune back in December of 2024. They had to suffer through a 65-27 loss at the hands of Eastside College Prep. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, California School for the Deaf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 76-38 defeat at the hands of Berean Christian. California School for the Deaf was down 57-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

California School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Contra Costa Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-5.

Contra Costa Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against California School for the Deaf in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 62-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Contra Costa Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
