Laurens had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Brashier Middle College Charter Bengal on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Laurens easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-19.

Peyton George paced Laurens' offense, picking up eight kills. George got some help from Aleigha Johnson and her 17 assists. Carrie Bartley controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Brashier Middle College Charter now has a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, Laurens and Brashier Middle College Charter will both be playing Southside the next time they take the court. The Raiders will head out to face the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bengal will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
