Soccer Game Preview: George County vs. Picayune

The George County Rebels will challenge the Picayune Maroon Tide on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

George County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Terry an 8-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Rebels sure are getting used to it with their 13th in a row.

Meanwhile, Picayune hadn't done well against Long Beach recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Picayune blew past Long Beach 3-0. The Maroon Tide's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Picayune has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those eight contests. As for George County, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.
