Baseball Game Preview: Enterprise Wolves vs. Milford Tigers

For the second straight game, Enterprise will face off against Milford. The Wolves will host the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Enterprise is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

Enterprise barely beat Milford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves blew past the Tigers 12-3 on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Eric Phelps made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Treyson Whitman, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Parker Staheli, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Enterprise kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milford only managed two hits.

The win made it two in a row for Enterprise and bumps their season record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Milford, they moved to 11-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Enterprise has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts.
