Basketball Game Preview: West Brunswick Trojans vs. New Hanover Wildcats

West Brunswick hasn't had much luck against New Hanover recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The West Brunswick Trojans will look to defend their home court against the New Hanover Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

West Brunswick fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Hoggard on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Vikings 66-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (55), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, New Hanover waltzed into their game on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They walked away with a 76-66 win over the Pirates.

New Hanover pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.5 points per game. As for West Brunswick, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

West Brunswick took a serious blow against New Hanover when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 81-46. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of New Hanover's Kellum Brown, who went 8 of 9 on his way to 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
