Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Cristo Rey Royals ended up a good deal behind the Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans and lost 79-60. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Spartans are ranked 145th).

Cristo Rey's defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Veritas Collegiate Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Cristo Rey does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Veritas Collegiate Academy, they will take on Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
