Softball Recap: Sonora Takes a Loss

Sonora fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against La Habra on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 11-0 to the Highlanders. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Raiders, who until this game were averaging 3.76 runs allowed.

Sonora saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aliana Pacheco, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Sonora and nudges their season record down to 13-4. As for La Habra, they pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sonora is set to take on their familiar foe Villa Park at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, La Habra will face off against rival El Dorado at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Highlanders 2.8, the Golden Hawks 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
