PERTH AMBOY, N.J. - the Patriots had a big 27-point first quarter on Saturday, sealing a 40-6 victory over Perth Amboy (N.J.).
Colonia scored on a touchdown run by
Sam Pero, a passing touchdown, a Pero touchdown run and a
Tenny Adewusi touchdown pass to Pero in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a Pero touchdown run in the first quarter, CHS was up 27-6 at the half.
The Patriots expanded their lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. Colonia's lone score in the quarter came on a Pero touchdown run.
Perth Amboy's lone touchdown came on a pass in the first quarter.
A 6-0 Colonia victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss was the third in a row for the Panthers.
Perth Amboy (0-3) will play a Greater Middlesex - White game against St. Joseph next week, while Colonia (3-1) will take on Woodbridge also in a Greater Middlesex - White game.
