Softball Recap: Kofa Takes a Loss

Kofa fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Liberty on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 6-5. The Kings just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Charlize Anaya put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Anaya wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kiya Sayre, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Kofa's record now sits at 6-15. As for Liberty, their record is now 10-15-1.

Looking ahead, Kofa will look to defend their home field on Monday against Yuma at 3:45 p.m. The Kings will need to watch out since the Criminals have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Liberty, they will head out on the road to square off against Shadow Ridge at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Stallions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
