Baseball Recap: Jefferson Davis Academy Takes a Loss

Jefferson Davis Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Edisto on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1. The Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Colson Loadholt was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Jefferson Davis Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Edisto, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson Davis Academy will face off against Whale Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Edisto, they will challenge Bridges Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bridges Prep's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Edisto's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
