Basketball Game Preview: DeKalb County Tigers vs. White County Warriors

DeKalb County hasn't had much luck against White County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The DeKalb County Tigers will square off against the White County Warriors at 6:00 p.m. White County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on DeKalb County, who comes in off a win.

DeKalb County took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Smith County by a score of 50-43.

Meanwhile, White County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 56-51 to Warren County. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers are ranked 78th).

White County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for DeKalb County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Things could have been worse for DeKalb County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-24 loss to White County in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can DeKalb County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
