Baseball Recap: Mills Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mills lost to El Camino back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Colts. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly two runs.

Matt Juul spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Givanni Angelini was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory was the third in a row for Mills, bringing their record up to 8-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for El Camino, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mills beat El Camino by a score of 15-14 on Thursday.
