Football Recap: Lake Holcombe Comes Up Short

Lake Holcombe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 58-0 loss at the hands of the Owen-Withee Blackhawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chieftains of the 76-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Lake Holcombe's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Owen-Withee, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Coming up, Lake Holcombe will look to defend their home field on Friday against Gilman at 7:00 p.m. The Pirates' defense has only allowed 3.4 points per game this season, so the Chieftains' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Owen-Withee, they will head out to challenge Clayton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blackhawks will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
