Baseball Recap: Oakland Comes Up Short

Oakland extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-13. They came up short against the Oakridge Warriors, falling 17-6. That's two games in a row now that the Oakers have lost by exactly 11 runs.

As for Oakridge, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

For Oakridge's part, they got a massive performance out of Jasper Spoon, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. The Warriors are undefeated when Spoon posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Logan Kusak, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Looking ahead, Oakland will head out to challenge Bandon/Pacific at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Oakridge, they will be playing at home against Umpqua Valley Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Monarchs have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
