The Mooresville Pioneers will head out to challenge the Martinsville Artesians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mooresville has given up an average of 30.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Mooresville managed to slip by Whiteland the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Pioneers came up short against the Warriors on Friday, falling 35-14. The Pioneers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Connor Cruz, who threw for 196 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 30 yards. A healthy portion of Cruz's aerial production (91 yards to be exact) went to Journey Thompson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last matchup, Martinsville made sure to put some points up on the board against Perry Meridian on Friday. The Artesians blew past the Falcons 46-21. The contest marked the Artesians' most dominant victory of the season.
Mooresville better keep an eye on Chase Davis. He was instrumental in Martinsville's win, throwing for 395 yards and five TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Davis' passing game has become a key predictor of the Artesians' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Martinsville's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Nathan LaFary, Ty Stroud, and Blane Littell, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Martinsville's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Mooresville, they now also have a losing record of 3-4.
Mooresville came up short against Martinsville when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 27-18. Can the Pioneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
