Baseball Game Preview: Merryville Panthers vs. Mamou Demons

The Merryville Panthers will head out to take on the Mamou Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Mamou will be up against a hot Merryville team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. Merryville never let Evans get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Friday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 13 runs or more this season.

Jerimaya Robinson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Robinson was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

In other pitching news, Stellan S. Mirante looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Cole C. Mirante was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Landon Ardoin, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

While Mamou didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Marksville on Monday. That's two games straight that the Demons have won by exactly ten runs.

Mamou is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. Merryville pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
