Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Papillion-Lavista's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Papillion-LaVista had won two straight home games and Rease Murtaugh did her part to make it three on Tuesday. The Papillion-LaVista Monarchs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Buena Vista Bison 77-36 thanks to Murtaugh, who went 8-for-13 on her way to 21 points and four steals. The matchup was her seventh in a row with at least 16 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Reyes, who posted 13 points. Those 13 points gave her a new career-high.

Papillion-LaVista has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.8 points. As for Buena Vista, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 16 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Papillion-LaVista will head out to take on Lincoln Northeast at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Papillion-LaVista knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Lincoln Northeast likes a good challenge. As for Buena Vista, they will challenge South Sioux City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
