Baseball Recap: John Glenn Comes Up Short

John Glenn extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 5-15 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Philo Electrics. The Little Muskies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Electrics earlier this season, when they won 12-4.

Zane Townsend made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Carter Merry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

As for Philo, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.

On Philo's side, Brayden Payton was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ky-Mani Philip, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Glenn will take on Meadowbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Philo, they will head out to face off against Newcomerstown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Electrics' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
