Isabella Benton made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Benton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Adrianna Layne, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Layne is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.
Meanwhile, Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) got the win against Westminster Christian on Wednesday by a conclusive 8-1. The Stallions have beaten the Warriors the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Warriors has come to flipping the script.
Like American Heritage, Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) also got a great game from a two-way player: Ava Stevens. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Stevens was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Rebhan, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in home runs (two). Leilani Gonzalez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive contests.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms)'s win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for American Heritage, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. American Heritage hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
American Heritage came out on top in a nail-biter against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Stallions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
