            Riverdale's game  last Tuesday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Hanford West Huskies  a   2-0 shutout. Given the Cowboys' advantage  in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings  (they are ranked 140th, while the Huskies are ranked 832nd), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Xaidyn Camacho and  Javier Duarte scored both of Riverdale's goals,  bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

As for Hanford West, they will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Torres at 4:00  p.m.  on January 7, 2025. Torres' last three  games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
