Soccer Game Preview: Lutheran vs. Auburn

The Lutheran Crusaders will be taking part in a tournament against the Auburn Trojans at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Lutheran's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Lutheran managed to keep up with North Mac until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Crusaders came up short against the Panthers, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Auburn narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Southwestern 3-2. Auburn's winning goal came courtesy of Emme Divjak.

The win got Auburn back to even at 9-9-1. As for Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Lutheran suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Auburn in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
