Basketball Game Preview: Bentonville West Wolverines vs. Fayetteville Bulldogs

Bentonville West is 2-8 against Fayetteville since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bentonville West Wolverines will take on the Fayetteville Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m.

Bentonville West is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arkansas' top teams: Springdale, who was ranked first at the time (Bentonville West was ranked 25th). Bentonville West lost to Springdale on the road by a 56-38 margin on Friday. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Fayetteville had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past the Mountaineers 68-44. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.

Fayetteville pushed their record up to 16-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points over those games. As for Bentonville West, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Bentonville West came up short against Fayetteville in their previous matchup back in January, falling 51-44. Can Bentonville West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
